About us
Arizona Kayak Bass Nation brings together anglers from across Arizona for competitive kayak bass fishing, fellowship, and opportunities to take their fishing further. We welcome experienced competitors and anglers entering their first tournament, with a shared commitment to sportsmanship, conservation, and respect for one another.
Since holding our first event in 2023, our club has qualified 16 anglers for the Bassmaster Kayak Series National Championship. That achievement reflects the talent in Arizona’s kayak fishing community and the opportunity our club provides to compete beyond the state level.
FROM ARIZONA TO THE NATIONAL STAGE
Our tournament series gives anglers the opportunity to compete on Arizona waters, pursue Angler of the Year honors, and compete for a State Championship title.
Through our connection to B.A.S.S. Nation, anglers also have a pathway to the Newport Bassmaster Kayak Series Championship presented by Native Watercraft—a chance to represent Arizona and compete for a national title. The State Championship provides a top-10% qualification opportunity under the applicable B.A.S.S. criteria, with complete eligibility and qualification details published for each season.
HOW WE COMPETE
Our tournaments use Catch, Photograph, and Release, commonly called CPR. Anglers measure their catch on an approved measuring board, photograph it with the tournament identifier, and submit it through TourneyX. Results are based on verified fish length rather than weight, and fish are released back into the water.
Fair competition, safe vessel operation, and responsible fish handling are central to how we run our events.
A CLUB WORTH BEING PART OF
We want members to enjoy more than a day of competition. Arizona Kayak Bass Nation is a place to build friendships, exchange experience, learn new skills, and become part of Arizona’s kayak fishing community.
New to tournament fishing? Introduce yourself, ask questions, and reach out to a board member. We want your first event to feel approachable and your next one to be something you look forward to.
Our club is led by a five-member Board of Directors and strengthened by the members, volunteers, and sponsors who contribute their time, skills, and support. We encourage members to get involved and help shape the club’s future.
RESPECT FOR ARIZONA’S WATERS
Our purpose includes promoting ethical angling and responsible stewardship of Arizona’s fisheries and waterways. That means caring for our catch, respecting other people on the water, and leaving launch areas and shorelines clean.
